Mircosoft SQL Server DBA

Course Description

Administration of your organization’s SQL Server databases is improved by effectively maximizing the scalability, availability and security features of SQL Server 2005/2008. This course offers extensive experience using SQL Server 2005/2008 tools to install SQL Server, create and modify storage structures, back up and recover databases, and manage security. Hands-on exercises provide you with practical experience administering SQL Server 2005/2008. The students may spend additional time in the lab beyond the 45 hours included in the course. Upon successful completion of this course, students should be prepared to sit for certification exam. This course cost included the Certification Exam Fee up to $300.

You will learn

  • Knowledge of database queries
  • Knowledge of database theory
  • Knowledge of database design
  • Knowledge about the RDBMS itself, e.g. Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL
  • Knowledge of structured query language (SQL), e.g. SQL/PSM or Transact-SQL
  • General understanding of distributed computing architectures, e.g. Client–server model
  • General understanding of operating system, e.g. Windows or Linux
  • General understanding of storage technologies and networking
  • General understanding of routine maintenance, recovery, and handling failover of a database
