AutoCAD

Course Description

AutoCAD is a computer-aided drafting (CAD) software application developed by Autodesk that enables drafters, architects, engineers, and other professionals to create two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) models of mesh and solid surfaces. Prior to computer-aided drafting, manual hand drafting tools such as drafting boards and pencils, inking pens, parallel rules, compasses, and triangles only offered a subset of what can now be done with programs such as AutoCAD.

You will learn

  • A fundamental and working knowledge of how to navigate through the AutoCAD interface.
  • An awareness of how commands work in AutoCAD products.
  • The ability to draw and modify simple objects, and check drawings for information such as areas and distances.
  • The knowledge to use existing drawings as well as start new drawings from scratch by using drawing templates.
  • Knowledge of layers and AutoCAD blocks.
  • The basics of AutoCAD annotation such as text, dimensions, leaders and hatching.
  • The basics of AutoCAD annotation such as text, dimensions, leaders and hatching.
  • The understanding of drawing units along with accurate and quick drawing skills.
  • Use Masks and the Quick Mask Mode
  • The fundamentals of AutoCAD plotting, model space and paper space concept.
