Overview:

In this course, you will design, build, and upload a website using Dreamweaver.

This course is intended for novice web designers, web developers, and web graphic artists, and also for media marketing personnel who need to build simple websites and want to utilize the features of Adobe Dreamweaver CS4. This course will also cover advanced functionality and features of Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 to design and develop professional-looking websites

• Work with reusable site assets
• Work with different types of links
• Upload a website
• Work in Code View and use coding tools and features available in Dreamweaver
• Format web pages using advanced CSS techniques

• Create and validate forms
• Integrate external files with Dreamweaver

Day 1 Introduction to HTML and Dreamweaver CS4

       HTML Introduction

  1. Explain hypermedia vs. linear media
  2. Define HTML
  3. Understand HTML Element Structure
  4. Describe the Basic Document Structure
  5. Describe how HTML works
  6. Choose a Text Editor.
  7. Create a Basic Starting Document.
  8. Understand and Set Document Properties.

       Overview of the Dreamweaver Environment

  1. View Your Results in a Browser. Identify the main components of Dreamweaver's environment .
  2. Select and modify Dreamweaver’s Preferences.

       Site Management in Dreamweaver

  1. Understand how websites are typically structured
  2. Set up a website in Dreamweaver’s Site Window
  3. Use Dreamweaver’s Site Management features

Day 2   HTML Styles,  Links, Site upload Formatting Text

  1. Formatting text on the web
  2. Changing the font properties
  3. Introducing Cascading Style Sheets
  4. Fonts and class styles
  5. Creating styles
  6. Creating tag selectors
  7. Creating advanced styles
  8. Exporting CSS style definitions
  9. Attaching external style sheets
  10. Creating a new style sheet

      Lists

  1. Create an UnOrdered List
  2. Create an Ordered List
  3. Create a Definition List
  4. Nest Lists

      Anchors and URLs

  1. Insert links into documents
  2. Define Link Types
  3. Define URL
  4. List some commonly used URLs

       FTP

  1. In this section, you learn how to find a hosting company, or host a site by yourself. Upload the site to the web server by using Dreamweaver or some other FTP tools such as CuteFTP, WS-FTP.

Day 3   Images, Tables, and Forms Images and Image Maps

  1. Distinguish between supported graphics formats and unsupported graphics formats
  2. Determine which graphic format is best for the type of image
  3. Add images to your pages
  4. Use the Assets Panel
  5. Use images as links
  6. Create image maps
  7. Create a Photo Album for fun

Day4  Tables, Forms

  1. Create a Table
  2. Change a Table's properties
  3. Edit a Table
  4. Modify a Table Cell and it's properties
  5. Perform advanced Table editing
  6. Use Dreamweaver’s Tabular Data Import
  7. Use Dreamweaver’s Navigation Bar Control

         Forms

  1. Create a Form
  2. Add elements to a Form
  3. Configure the Form for Processing
  4. Understand the Client/Server Relationship
  5. Understand the CGI Script/Form Process

Day 5  Page Layout, Frames, CSS, Navigation System design  Frames

  1. Create a Frames based page
  2. Work with the Frameset, Frame, and Noframes elements
  3. Use the attributes of the Frames elements to control the look of the Frameset
  4. Set Targets appropriately

     
Day 6   CSS

  1. What is CSS?
  2. Create and modify style
  3. Selectors
  4. DIV
  5. Layout with CSS

Day 7   Maximizing the site design

  1. Introduce snippets
  2. Introduce Library Items
  3. Introduce template
  4. Create Template
  5. Modify Template

Day 8   JavaScript and Spry Framework

  1. JavaScript Concept
  2. Code basic JavaScript
  3. Using Spry Framework
  4. Using Extension
