| 1) Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) proves core system administrator skills. An RHCT can install, and configure a new Linux system and attach it to the corporate network. Installation and core system administration concepts, tools, and troubleshooting are explored in depth.
2) Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) demonstrates senior system administrator skills. An RHCE has RHCT skills plus the ability to configure network services and security. An RHCE can make decisions about which services should be deployed on the corporate network and how.
3) Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) establishes architect skills. An RHCA has RHCE skills plus deeper and additional skills needed to deploy and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux throughout the enterprise in numerous and varied applications. The curriculum emphasizes technology and processes for software deployment and systems management, directory services and authentication, storage management, system monitoring, performance tuning, and advanced network services and security.

4) Material from instructor - syllabus/handouts/home works/sample exams, etc will be given by instructor. You can get material electronically as following:
a) Get a Linux account – You need to hand in your user account id and password in first class. Instructor will create Linux account for you.
b) One your home computer, open a DOS window, create a directory for getting class material files
c) Click start, then run, enter ftp –i 216.211.197.111, then hit enter, you will see a ftp.exe window
d) Enter your username and password, you should see a ftp> prompt
e) Enter following commands respectively on ftp> prompt:
i) cd /home/chenchen/docs/linux (change to the directory where class material files stored)
ii) lcd c:\<dir you just created> (change to the directory where you want to download files to)
iii) ls (you should see lots of rtf files, they are class notes)
iv) bin (make sure the file is in binary format when transferring)
v) hash (print a # sign to the screen for every 1000 units)
vi) mget * (transmission will start at this point)
vii) by (to exit ftp utility from remote)
All files should be in the directory c:\< dir you just created >
